The centre for humanities, Maison des Sciences de l'Homme Lyon/Saint-Etienne (MSH-LSE)

The centre for humanities, Maison des Sciences de l'Homme Lyon/Saint-Etienne (MSH-LSE) is in charge of the structuring process of human and social sciences for the Lyon-Saint Etienne agglomeration of universities and higher education institutions, with a scope extending to the more than 50 research laboratories. The center for humanities is supervised by the National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS), the Université Lumière Lyon 2, the Université Jean Moulin Lyon 3, the ENS de Lyon, the Université Jean Monnet Saint-Etienne, the IEP de Lyon and the Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1.

Research Federations

Jean Pouilloux Centre of the East and the Mediterranean 

The Jean Pouilloux Centre of the East and the Mediterranean (fr. Maison de l’Orient et de la Méditerranée Jean Pouilloux or FR MOM) brings together four research laboratories dedicated to the study of all aspects of ancient societies, from prehistory to the medieval world, in the Near- and Middle East, the Mediterranean and the metropolitan territory. It has six common research support services and seven technology platforms.

Institute for the Study of Religions and Secularism

The ISERL (fr. Institut Supérieur d’Étude des Religions et de la Laïcité or FED ISERL) conducts the analysis of religious phenomena and secularism from an interdisciplinary and comparative perspective. Urban Hydrological Field Observation Research Laboratory

The Urban Hydrological Field Observation Research Laboratory (fr. Observatoire de Terrain en Hydrologie Urbaine or FED OTHU) is a laboratory without walls, this field- observation research federation studies urban waste and its effect on impacted environments - particularly in rainy weather - in the Lyon region, and proposes new solutions for sanitation design and management.
