to 19 September 2021
Whether you are an international exchange student, an individual student, or an international doctoral student, below you will find practical information to help you prepare for your arrival and your studies at the Université Lumière Lyon 2.
- Obtaining a visa
-
Since June 9, 2021, new procedures for coming to France apply to international students and researchers. They differ according to your country of origin and your vaccination status.
To see the evolution of the situation, consult regularly the Campus France website.
The French government prioritizes international student mobility and the consulates continue to issue visas so that international students can safely reach their host institution at the beginning of the new school year.
The Université Lumière Lyon 2 will grant late arrival permits to students coming from countries on the red list (circulation of COVID variants) which are not authorized to enter French territory for the moment and where consulates are processing visa applications while waiting for a favorable outcome.
To obtain a late arrival authorization, please contact the person in charge of the program in which you are enrolled.
Check in which category (green, orange, red) your country is located on the site: www.gouvernement.fr/info-coronavirus
The Ministry of the Interior website should be consulted regularly for updates: https://www.interieur.gouv.fr/Actualites/L-actu-du-Ministere/Attestation-de-deplacement-et-de-voyage - Late arrival
-
Thanks to the current positive developments in the health situation, the vast majority of courses are scheduled to take place on campus. It is therefore not possible to attend classes virtually at the Université Lumière Lyon 2.
We are aware of the problems linked to obtaining visas for students coming from certain countries. A late arrival will therefore be tolerated on the condition that the student commits to make up the missed classes.
To obtain an authorisation for late arrival, please contact the school administrators or the person in charge of the course you have been enrolled in. - Health measures and vaccination
-
Depending on your country of origin and your vaccination status, the procedures that apply for coming to France are different. Isolation and quarantine measures may be imposed on students arriving in France.
The vaccines recognized by France are those recognized by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) which are, to date
- Comirnaty (Pfizer)
- COVID-19 Vaccine Moderna
- COVID-19 Vaccine Janssen
- Vaxzevria (Astrazenecca)

After your admission, you must follow the registration steps that are mandatory at the Université Lumière Lyon 2:
- Administrative Enrolment (IA)
- Academic Enrolment (IP)
In order to carry out the administrative enrolment procedure, you must receive an authorisation to enrol as well as your certificate of payment of the Student and Campus Life Contribution (CVEC). The enrolment authorisation is a document sent by the programme secretary and not by the International Student Office (DRI).
As a reminder, the University charges the same admission fees for all students: https://www.univ-lyon2.fr/formation/droits-et-montants-d-inscription
You also have to pay the CVEC, which you can find on the website https://cvec.etudiant.gouv.fr/
If you have these two documents, you can proceed with the administrative enrolment, then the academic enrolment.
The administrative enrolment procedure is completely paperless and is done via the enrolment platform.
Please note that the platform will be closed from 23 July to 21 August 2022.
Once your application has been validated by the Admissions Office, you will receive your certificate of enrolment by email after having created your Lyon 2 account.
