The International Students' Office is available on the BDR and PDA campuses (except for exceptional closures) to assist you in the various procedures related to your life in France.

Language integration modules for international students

As part of the Welcome to France label, the International Relations Department and the International Center for French Studies (CIEF) have produced interactive modules to help international students prepare for their arrival in France.

The BEI assists international students throughout their studies in order to facilitate their administrative procedures within the University or when they settle in France.

Alter Ego
Alter Ego's mission is to offer cultural activities to international students and to put them in touch with other students (French and international) in order to facilitate their integration in Lyon and in university life.

A rich and various program of intercultural activities:

  • Operation Binôme (Buddy System) : Matching and follow-up of two (or three) students (French and/or international) in order to create social links and a linguistic support network, for more information, click here 
  • Intercultural exchange workshops offered throughout the year
  • Guided tours of Lyon
  • Day trips to discover cities near Lyon
  • Cultural outings in connection with
  • Lyon's institutions Welcome events: Meetings and welcome parties (only if permitted)
  • Organization of international cafés: lively meetings in a foreign language in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere
  • Organization of meetings between French students wishing to go on an exchange program and students who have experienced international exchanges, in order to help them prepare for their stay

International
Mentoring Center

The International Mentoring Center offers resources for academic success to help international students master the subtleties of French academic language and methodology.

We offer three unique services :

  • Individual tutoring via videoconference to help you with your written and oral expression in the context of your academic work
  • Workshops on academic methodology, independently online and/or in small groups with a tutor via videoconference or in person
  • Individual meetings with our academic coordinator to explain the various French as a Foreign Language (FLE) programs at the Université Lumière Lyon 2 and in Lyon
