The DRED's* Project Engineering Department supports the research policy defined by Université Lumière Lyon 2 and, in compliance with the regulations applicable to higher education establishments, provides support to teacher-researchers in developing, implementing and monitoring research projects.

Support for project development

The Project Engineering Department is available to assist the institution's laboratories and faculty members in responding to calls for international, European, and national research projects (ANR, Horizon Europe, etc.). It provides key information on the administrative, legal, budgetary, and strategic aspects of applications.

It monitors and disseminates information to research teams, in particular via the DREDLINE newsletter, and actively raises awareness among the university community of research support mechanisms, particularly through the Cafés Thématiques, a monthly virtual meeting where the latest news on calls for projects and funding opportunities are presented.

It actively participates in local and national networks of project managers.

Research contracts and promoting research

The Project Engineering Department implements the strategy for promoting research in the humanities and social sciences defined by the Vice-President for Research in line with the institution's scientific policy.

It supports teacher-researchers in their efforts to promote and develop partnerships with civil society and the third sector of research by acting as an interface between research units, economic and cultural actors, local authorities, and partners in the field of research promotion (Culture, Science, and Society Department of the University of Lyon, SATT Pulsalys, third places, corporate R&D departments, the C.U.R.I.E. network, the Alliss Recherche, Sciences et Société network, etc.).

The department ensures the visibility of the University's research work through the publication of RchRch, which aims to share the knowledge and expertise being developed in our laboratories, to decipher the world around us, and to make research and its results accessible to all.

Management of internal projects

To support the institution's research policy, the Project Engineering Department deploys several support mechanisms for laboratories. A call for multidisciplinary projects aims to encourage the emergence of original and/or innovative research initiatives that are likely to prefigure responses to calls for projects from other national or international funding bodies (Region, ANR, Europe, etc.). In addition, a conference subsidy program provides funding for the organization of large-scale scientific events, whether recurring or one-off, that are likely to attract a wide audience within the disciplines and themes concerned.

Other measures may be put in place according to the institution's priorities.
